Sprıng Break has taken on quıte a bad reputatıon ın some parts of the US.

What are yours plans for Sprıng Break?

  1. When I was in High School, my plans for spring break were always the same- going to the beach and getting in trouble at the beach. I am 33 now and I am sure kids are doing the same things I was at that age- probably worse! Now, as an adult, my plans consist of working, studying and working some more. I am a person who has 3 part-time jobs and just started school full time. So as you can see, I do not have much time for fun these days. I guess I got it all out of my system when I was young.

A big smile on my face as i think of those good old days when i had so much fun with my friends on spring break...but now i am passed that i currently work full time and go to school full time, and i am also a full time mom(that job never ends is 24/7) so not much time for fun
but it's always nice to reminisce on those good and fun times, and i still keep in touch with many of my friends and we get together at times

Spring Break to me means work. I never really did anything when it came to spring break only because my parents were so strick on me. My high school years were very sheltered and so as a result of that when Spring Break comes around all I do is work or I stay home and hang out with my friends that are in town.

My plans for spring break is to catch up and spend a lot of time to read my books for all of my classes because I just came back from my country 4 days ago,but I remember when I was in high school,I always thought that this kind of break is fun, and I imagined that I'm in the white beach with my family but that imagination never happened because on that time, we didn't have much money. But, anyway, my brothers and I always found and thought something that made us happy even though we were poor.

Spring break has never been an adventure time for me, only a relaxation time. In the past, I have spent my spring break hanging out with my friends, sleeping in, playing video games or something of that sort. This is not to say that I wouldn't love to go somewhere, I just don't have the money for it at the time. Vacations are in the summer months for me if I take them. This spring break, my mother and I are taking my nephew to a couple of places like the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coke. That along with social time just about wraps up my spring break.

I used to think like you every school break when I was in high school. I say school break because we don't have Spring in my country always Summer for the whole year :-). Anyway, I always wanted to go to the beach eventhough we have beach just behind our house. I think I just want to go out of town like everybody does but we can't afford it. But now, like you said, once you get older you still think about going out of town but now we have priority more than that, and you are a very busy Mom, and I admired you because in the same time you go to school too to get an education. Good luck to you and God Bless!

Growing up, I was never the kid who went on big trips in the summer or on spring break. I usually stayed at home and had fun hanging out with friends. I just returned from a 2 week vacation to the Bahamas and different places in Florida. I went with my husband. We had so much fun that we are still paying for it, on our credit card! This spring break I will be picking up more hours at my work, be catching up on homework, and studying for an upcoming nursing entrance test. Oh yeah...and having lots of fun between it all!

Back in high school, every year for spring break my two best friends and I and our families would rent a beach house in Destin, Florida. Now that we have all gone our separate ways for college we no longer have the same spring breaks and therefor no longer can go to Destin together. So sadly, I have no plans of going to the beach for spring break.. I'm just going to hang out with friends that are in town and family. But come summer when we're all home from college, we will definitely be taking our trip to Destin!

In the past I have gone to the beach for Spring Break. Back in the day when there was no work and no "real world" and no cares and worries, it was easy to have fin over spring break! Now I am 24 and I work ALL THE TIME! So, over Spring Break, I will be catching up on studying and homework, and working. I know that my education is going to help me in the future, so it doesnt bother me to do homework over break. I also work at a day care, so I am working in my field of study, so I dont mind working over break.

  11. I have to say that when when I was growing up in Buffalo, we never had a "spring break". We did however have easter vacation which lasted for two weeks; but it was usually too cold to consider taking a beach vacation, which for us would have been to lake erie. The only time I heard of spring break was on tv; and it always seemed a bit wild. When I started college we had spring break, but for me it was just time away from school to do the things I wanted to do. Even now, I don't acknowledge spring break; ecxept as a time to do work around the house and catch up on home work. I do most of my traveling in the summer and winter anyways.

Although life happens and excitment takes on new meaning; you seem to have some good memories. I wish that I would have experienced a real spring break at least once, because you can't go back; but at least you can say that you did!

When was in high school I worked through Spring Break. Pretty boring, but extra money then meant more fun in the summer. Now, like everyone else it seems, I still work through Spring Break. It is barely noticable. I home school my children through the week and everything runs right on regardless. However, we do get to spend a little more time at the farm with the animals. The kids love that.

I totally agree with you. This is a good time to catch up on assignments. It doesn't bother me at all that I dont get to go places over spring break since I know that am working towards a better future for me and my family.

I am in the same boat as you. When I was younger I would go on vacation for spring break! I am now 25, working a full time job, and raising two children. Since I am now a adult, I plan on working, studying, and playing with my children after work over the break. I also hope to get a little bit of relaxtion time, too!

  17. I had no plans for spring break. All I did was work and go the to gym and spend time with family and friends. There was no special plan, but I like that. I like not having a particular plan and just relaxing.

Spring break went by so quick! I did have fun relaxing with my 1yr old daughter. We took a few trips to the park :) and that was probably the most exciting part of my break. I am always going here there so i didnt want to plan anything so i could sleep in lounge around the house.

I agree with Amber Spring break went by so quick! for me it is the same as Summer break meaning work and school. It seems like I never get to enjoy those times. I have chosen to stay on my mission to press forward with school. I am planning a trip to Florida in June.

The spring break you planned out for yourself sounded very relaxing!! Spending time with a loved one especially your kids is the thing that I'm looking forward to when I have a family of my own! And lounging around the house is also another thing that I believe sounds relaxing, maybe even sitting by the pool!

I agree totally Deborah. I am 48. I work full time and got to school full time. Spring Break means I have time to get caught up on laundry and clean my house.

I am orgianlly from Florida. Our family has a time share in Daytona beach, and we used to go there on spring break. Ever since I graduated high school I have not been on a out of state vacation. Except for my grandfathers funneral I have not been back to Florida. My friend and took a trip to Savannah on my b-day that was my vacation for last year. I have been working on my fashion design portfolio for this spring and went to the doctors.

Spring break was great! Didn't really have any set plans just to take it easy. I enjoy getting to sleep in and having the whole day to do whatever. I would have loved to of gone to the beach but that didn't work out this year. Maybe next year.

  24. My father and little brother came up to visit from Florida and spent a few days. Seeing them was fun of course. My father and I had a cookoff. My children said it was a tie. Mostly I just tried to study and took my oldest son to his baseball pratices. I also caught up on some cleaning and organizing. I have five children from 9 years old to 5 months old so Spring Break is not really a break for me. Spring Break when I was in high school seems a lifetime ago. Or like something that I read about somewhere, it's been so long ago..

I agree with Maggie. It is just nice to spend time with family and friends with no particular agenda. I had no plans for spring break either, but totally enjoyed spending time with my kids! The weather was beautiful and we had picnics in the park.

  27. I actually had nothing planned for myself. I relaxed and went about my week. Come Friday though my grandfather passed away. Then my Spring Break turned into a viewing and a funeral. And that turned into a celebration of a good man and good time with the family.

I was the maid of honor for my best friend's wedding. I was consumed by all of the parties and last minute planning of that. Other than that, I relaxed with my family.

  29. Spring break came and went just like any other week. In the last ten years when I watch the news, I would see alot of crazy things happening to young adults at popular spring break destinations like kidnapping, rape, and even murder. In some areas it has really gotten out of control with too much sex, drugs, and alcohol. It also seems as though the crazier it is the bigger the crowd is the next year. My son has really bad allergies so I spent spring break giving breathing treatments, antibiotics, and zyrtec thanks to the pollen.

During the past years my spring breaks were taking care of my brother. Sometimes my family would take weekend trips to the mountians for my brother. When my parents were at work my brother and i would go outside and play in our driveway. This past spring break was different i lost my brother. so my spring break was spent thinking about him and spending time with the rest of my family.

I agree that spring breaks in popular places such as florida spots have gotten out of controll. Even when i was in high school i felt that spring break was over rated. I did not feel the need to go drink and do all that stuff. i am sorry you son has bad allegries. my brother also had them.

For my spring break I went to Panama City. My aunt lives there and my best friend and I drove down and spent the week with her laying on the beach and just spending time catching up as I don't get to see her as often as I would like.

I worked and then I saw my grandma. I then later worked some more and then I went to a funeral. I didn't personally know who passed away but a couple of my friends did so I went with them. Then later, I worked.

  37. I think that Spring Break definitely has a bad reputation in Panama City Beach and the Destin area of Florida. I too am guilty of going down there in my late teens and twenties to party. For me that is what it was idolized as, a weeklong party and an opportunity for those who could to get away from their parents and be rebellious and do things that they normally wouldn’t. I thankfully never did get into trouble like many of my peers did; I guess my mama raised me right huh? Now, when I think about Spring Break, I am just thankful that my children aren’t old enough to be doing anything like I have memories of. My upbringing was not one where I attended a church regularly, and I came from a “broken” home so I don’t feel as though I had the best role models back then either. My children thankfully are being raised in church, and I hope to instill a bit more wisdom in them before sending them off to the beach with their friends.

  38. In response to Sabrina,

I stayed home too! My husband said the same thing "we are party animals aren't we?" Lol, I think that I will have to take a trip soon when the rest of the world isn't trying to also. It's just too congested on the interstates and in this economy, a "staycation" was just what we needed!

  41. I had no plans for spring break. I stayed home with my family. I haven't gone on vacation for spring break since I was 13. I'd like to go again, but in this economy, it just isn't going to happen. I can always think of better things to spend my money on

For spring break I went to Daytona Beach with my best friend, his mom and brother. I've been with them every year for about 5 or 6 years now. We lay out all day, swim, ride around, go out to eat, watch movies, and play games. I guess you could say we just have good clean fun. Even though one year someone shot a man from the balcony in the condos next to ours...it was crazy!

Well born and raised in the state of fla ive had my share of spring breaks and ive seen alot during this time of the year, and hundreds of spring breakers make bad decisions and after experiencing the spring break atmosphere I learned just to be safe. And enjoy my time away from homework and do less as possible.
