Thanksgiving

Greetings and Happy Thanksgiving! This distinctly American holiday is known for a time of giving thanks, over-eating and spending time with family.

What will you do?

  1. I am going to go to church and we are going to have a dinner with the members there. We do not really celebrate Thanksgiving but since most of the members have an off day we chose to have a little gathering to spend time together.

I will be spending Thanksgiving with my family. I had originally intended to have a quiet evening at home with my intermediate family, but that changed, now other people have envited themselves over. I guess i'll have to spend the entire morning in the kitchen cooking and most likely cleaning up while everyone relax's on the couch. I just love my Thanksgivings. :(

I think it's wonderful that there is a designated day to say,"Thanks"! Even if you don't believe in a designated "God", say thanks to the universe for the rich lives we live. I'm going to eat, drink, and be thankfully merry!

  5. David G. Thanksgiving for me this year will be the happy predicament of trying to decide where and when to meet and feast with family and friends. I have decided to go to my sisters new home in the early afternoon and to my friends place in the evening. Thank You God for family and friends.

This year my family and I are taking part in the Gobble Jog to support must ministries. After that, we will head back home and start cooking the delicious feast! We get to spend the entire day relaxing with people we love over yummy food and drinks! Does it get any better than that? :) Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

I just had the most awesome meal ever, prepared by my cousin’s husband. I am about to pick up my husband from work and spend the rest of the day watching television, playing Wii, and having a good time altogether as a family. Tonight we will go to shop for Christmas gifts. I am thankful for my family.

  9. My Thanksgiving this year was great! It was my husband, son and I enjoying a great dinner & quality time together. We decided to spend Thanksgiving at home this year without any other family, just to relax. We made all our calls to family members, wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving and then watched numerous holiday shows on TV. However, we did spend some time during the day with friends. The next morning we enjoyed black Friday & got so much Christmas shopping down. Friday night we went to a movie, which is traditional for us to do every Thanksgiving no matter where we are & we went out for black Saturday too. We are still enjoying all the left overs and catching up on sleep. It was a lazy, relaxing, great day!

For Thanksgiving we really didnt do much. Usually we have a big party and have all of our family over (cousions, uncles, grandparents, friends, etc.) but this yeah it was just my daughter, mom and dad. We had a quiet day had some turkey, potatoes, and watched the football game of course from the dinner table! it was a nice quiet day with family.

  12. My family and I had a very nice dinner on Thursday and then I went to work. What family did not come to the dinner we talked on the phone. It is very important for our family to connect with each other on Thanks giving, Christmas and on birthdays. We all pray and thank the great spirit for each one and to take care of them for another year.

  13. Holidays are generally stressful for me. I did enjoy having an all night sitter and getting to Black Friday shop with my husband though! Linuel S67

Thanksgiving is a big holiday in my family, and it one of my favorites because i LOVE to eat. We usually have thanksgiving dinner at my house but this year it was a little different and we had it at my uncles house in cartersville. My nana always makes the stuffing and my mom always makes the turkey, squash casserole, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie. My uncle makes his special chocolate pecan pie and mashed potatoes. Before we sit down to eat me all go around the table and say what we are thankful for and then we say a prayer and feast on all the great food that has been made.

This thanksgiving I traveled to wisconsin to see my mother and grandparents. My mother has recently moved up there and I have recently started living on my own. I had a blast seeing her, we spent most of our days cooking and baking a lot of dessert !

All I did was to spend time with my daughter. She is almost one year old and we had fun together in my house the whole weekend since thanksgiving day.

My family usually spends thanksgiving at my mom's house every year. My brother and sister joins us with their family and we help our mother cook, we gather around the kitchen, joking bring up past memories, especially the time we kids got into trouble or the sneeky things we did that our parents did not know about. Its fun to see my parents reactions to the news. But this year my family took a trip to Orlando for my son's soccer tournament that was being played at the ESPN Wide World of Sports! We really had a good time.

I had my mom, dad, brother, sister in law, nephews, sons and grandsons, and daughter, son in law and grandaughter. Unfortunately, my hsuband is a paramedic and worked that day. I cooked all day and we always eat at dinner time.Great day but I was exhausted!!!

Normally, we volunteer on Thanksgiving Day, enjoy the family, and over indulge in food and sleep. Regrettably, my schedule this year had me cooking and studying--more studying than anything else. So, I am saving my energies for Christmas & New Years--after completing this semester.

Our family traditional has Thanksgiving dinner at my Aunt or grandmothers house, and Christmas dinner at my parents house. I think traditions are a big part of the holidays, and this has been a lasting tradition to spend time together with great food , television, and family.

This Thanksgiving was special. It was the first time I ever enjoyed Thanksgiving with only one other special person, my boyfriend. I am divorced, so my ex-husband had my son this year. My boyfriend had the idea of us having Thanksgiving together, just me and him this year. It was nice. We definitely had more leftovers than usual. But, overall it was very sweet and nice to spend it with one of the people I am most thankful for.

  24. On Thanksgiving I usually stay at home with family, talk and just have a good time. Dinner is always great, despite the whole morning it takes to prepare it.
